The repair price is high due to the damage it can inflict.
It gave me a few hundred thousand research and almost a million lions in one game.
It is prone to attack from a fast strafing jet, but most people in sim don't seem to understand how to use a fighter in sim.
Bomber like this in squad of 3-4 could also end in one pass any RB match as their in the stratosphere before the early jets with lower than prop climb rate can catch up before they dropped all their bombs
As both those mods gave more RP/SL for every action and allowed them to ruin other players game unpunished gaijin nerfed it along with similar planes
Instead of putting it VS aircraft that would always wreck it before it does anything or make unhistorical modification to nerf it they made it cause you a net loss whenever you lost it to discourage its use
Thats the B29 "Silver" modification including armored bomb bay to stop radiation from poisening the crew along with a bomb bay slight rework to fit nukes in it
On top of that nuke is more likely to get you banned as the blast radius would also kill more than enough teammates to trigger the autoban bot for teamkills
THEN it will be worth the repair cost.
The B29 isn't even modelled realistically. You can look at video online showing how fast the gun motors move, they're terrifically fast.
Not to mention that the computer that powered them was literally fly-by-wire. You only had to point the target and the computer would compensate the rest, even going by the enemy plane speed.
If the B29 had computer-aimed guns it'd be a bloody monster.
Sorry, deleted my post as Foxtrot39 said it better. Yeah, we're not getting nukes, not up for debate. There are many planes that don't have such simple loadouts such as rockets for the B-25 and you want nukes for the B-29?
Being a bomber Pilot in this game kind of makes me miss my Bomber Days on Aceshigh. Over there all bomber pilots spawn with 3 bombers in formation. 1 is the players bomber the other 2 are computer controlled to follow you in formation and function like real bombers. Gave a more realistic approach to bombing. But then again that game is leagues above this one in that field.
