War Thunder is updating everytime I open it.
Why is it that everytime I exit War Thunder and launch it again, it goes through an updating phase? Is that supposed to happen or what?

Yeah.

It's very annoying! I had a big discussion with people on this forum about it, a while ago!

Yeah.

Im surprised War Thunder has this many players despite the extremely annoying updating phase.

there are indeed quite a few updates these days but if you are on the Work-in-Progress (WiP) client there are even more ^^ so you may want to check if the WiP tickbox in the lower right corner of the launcher is ticked and untick it...

other than that on some systems the launcher ALWAYS analyzes the game files whenever it is getting started (even if there is no game update to download) - when this happens usually there is a reason given in the launcher logs (located in the ..\War Thunder\.launcher_log\ folder) so it may be worth having a look into the latest logs.

however if you only start the client once a week it's pretty much normal that there is a (small) update since the game is getting updated / patched quite frequently.
