UPDATE: This is the second review I have written for Halo Infinite. The first was written prior to completing the Campaign

Halo Infinite is a very frustrating game to be a fan of. On one hand it has some of the best gameplay of the whole series that strikes a good balance between old and new and it's Campaign is one of, if not the best. On the other hand.. there are a LOT of problems.

For one, the game has a serious content drought. No Forge and No Co-Op are among the biggest omissions (yes I know they're apparently coming in Season 3) and the rest of the situation is dire. People are very quickly getting bored with the lack of content in Multiplayer, and the two maps added with Season 2 have not helped as much as the devs probably hoped they would. The Fracturs event each season helps somewhat, but even that fails to add the shine that this game really needs.

By far the biggest problem with the game however is it's business model. The shop cycles weekly, but no matter what week it is, the prices will be equally outrageous. Something as simple as a primary colour for an armour has to be grinded for or bought outright, which is outright insulting considering the prices. Expect to pay $20+ for a single set of armour if it's shop exclusive.. and they usually are. This scummy business model is not only bad by itself, but it's made even worse by the fact that it ruins the customisation system by it's very nature. Armour pieces are core specific (though once again, apparently this is being fixed) so you cannot swap pieces between cores. ODST helmet in the Mark VII body? Forget it.

Overall, as good as Halo Infinite is, the problems that come bundled with it seriously hold it back, and I fear are going to be the death of it. 343 constantly bragged and declared they are a crunch free environment, but right now it feels more like a work free environment.

It is absolute B-Movie Action Schlock, but honestly? Enjoy for what it is, grab it on sale and play it with a mate. I haven't had this much fun or laughed this hard playing a game in a very long time, and that's despite the atrocious QTEs and tedious boss battles.

I had high hopes for this game, and yet it still managed to blow me away. The writing is stellar, the graphics charming, the story and themes draw you in and the character are top notch. This is an easy recommendation for me to make

Early Access Review
An entirely unremarkable Battle Royale game that utterly wastes the remarkable setting that is the World of Darkness. Unsatisfying controls, a tired gameplay loop and agonisingly long wait times make this title incredibly painful to play.

A fun, simple shooter of the era, albeit one marked by some of the trademarks of the era better forgetten (terrible escort missions primarily). It won't blow you away, but for a couple of bucks it's a simple bit of fun in the always amusing Judge Dredd universe.
