Ahoy I'm CheatFreak, or just Cheat for short.

I'm a bit of a weeb who plays too many video games and watches too much anime. Grew up with Sega and Nintendo, became a PC gamer in 2011. Pretty into console modding, mainly the 3DS and Wii U. Only very slightly obsessed with catgirls.

I've also made/worked on a bunch of Sonic mods. People always tell me they recognize my name but don't know where from, which is just perfect, because I try to maintain a small internet footprint, not a fan of big attention.

I accept friend requests, unless you're obviously a bot or pulling a scam. I generally prefer anyone who adds me to be above level 15 as mentioned above, but I'm not strict about it. Q: Do you cheat in games/life?
A: No, not really. My username (since I assume that's why you asked) comes from my childhood love of Action Replay and GameShark devices. I didn't love them because they allowed to you cheat necessarily, but rather the ability they had to give you more entertainment out of games you already owned. Think Sonic Adventure 2 cheat codes that would allow you to play as Amy in Single Player for example. On the Nintendo DS, I used Action Replay regularly to actually make games harder, in fact. It's also for this reason I enjoy game modding and romhacks a lot.

Q: Can you make cheats or mods for games for me? (either for free or for money.)
A: The short answer is no. I don't do that. I do sometimes dabble in game reverse engineering for my own purposes, but mainly for assisting modding, and typically it's for older games on game consoles most often. I'm also not a very good programmer, I just know a good amount about a lot of things.

Q: Will you update BetterSADX or Make BetterSA2 / BetterHeroes / BetterWhatever?
A: No, I don't plan on working on BetterSADX anymore. Use SADX Mod Installer instead. BetterSADX was a stopgap project I made to inject some life into the Sonic Adventure modding scene by making the mod-friendly port available to the masses without being direct piracy. It got some 200,000 downloads at least and while the name may be recognizable, I've more or less left the project behind, and have no intention to work on any Sonic mods outside of ones borne out of passion.

Q: Can I add you to ask you questions about modding Sonic games or other games?
A: I'd rather you not, generally, but if you do I won't bite your head off, I guess. I just get this a lot, OK? There's better places to ask. Like Discord servers.

Q: Who made your artwork showcase?
A: I did, although the art it's made from comes from The Ditzy Demons are in Love With Me, an eroge visual novel I'm quite fond of. The art in it of Ayasaki Yuu was drawn by Sayori of NEKO WORKs. I don't do custom profiles requests.

Q: What other games do you play aside from on Steam?
A: I grew up with Sega and Nintendo, and I'm mostly a huge fan of Nintendo franchises these days. In particular, I love the Kirby, Xenoblade, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Super Mario, and Animal Crossing series. I also sometimes play Smash and Mario Kart. I still have a soft spot for Sega on occasion, but they so often disappoint these days, especially since they have an infatuation with bundling Denuvo in all their games which tanks performance on my admittedly dated PC. Q: What is your rig like?
A: The short answer is, it's not very good. The long answer is it is a Dell Optiplex 3010 Half Height Tower that I upgraded. It has an Intel i5-3540S, Patriot Viper 16GB (2 x 8 GB) 1600Hz DDR3 running in dual channel, a 240GB Micron SATA SSD, 2 x 1TB Western Digital SATA 2.5in HDDs, and an annoying MSI GTX 1650 LP which has a dying fan that is difficult to replace. It works but it's not my ideal build, but I work with what I have and I don't have money for a better rig yet. I'm also never buying MSI ever again, as they completely ignored all my support requests about the fan while it was still under warranty. heads.
