Easier than Japan, even with bombing RNG and supertrain timings (unique to levels 2 and 3 respectively). Even the slowest trains in this chapter move faster than in the Europe/America chapters, so you won't get bored quickly.

Fairly short, only like 8 puzzles. Good communication got us through everything. For the price of nothing, it's worth your time.

Making actual gameplay addition updates (hardcore levels) free and only charging for seasonal cosmetics at low prices? Yes.

For the small price, you get what you pay for: a shallow point-n'-click style game that lasts you a few hours, depending on how frequently you replay it. There is a hard limit to the amount of different approaches you can take to many of the events It's short enough that it's not worth spoiling what happens, but the gist of Pilgrims is that you play as several characters as they seek to settle their debts from a card game in the intro sequence, or just to return things to normal.

This game is quite simplified (and like Creaks, it's controller-friendly too!) compared to Amanita's other games, so you're not constantly scouring every screen for things to click - they're presented very noticeably here so your playtime isn't wasted (and artificially inflated), which I greatly appreciated. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for something short and undemanding from Amanita.

Tried to use the AI at difficulty level 0 to demonstrate to a friend the basic rules of chess, proceeded to get completely annihilated 3 times in a row before I clawed a win.

Worth it even at full price. So nice to buy content and know it cannot let you down, even if the puzzles are tougher than any preceding Trine title.

(Only the host needs to buy this, since Trine 4 co-op only uses the host's savefile.)

I enjoy an artistic game but they're usually not this slow or boring, and they normally don't force you to finish the game before you can revisit anything. It seems at odds with itself, and I can't recommend it.

Edit: finished the game now, and I grieve. I weep for the time and braincells lost forcing myself through it.

The dearth of checkpoints (and ability to backtrack at any given point) shows just how much the developers hate the player, since there are so many points where you might miss a simple jump or glide which makes all the difference between grabbing a hard-to-reach collectible or landing back on the story-railroad, having to wait until the end of the game to get another chance. At one point I was experimenting with smashing things, like mini-towers and statues, but the game wasn't having any of it. "You wanted to see what interacting with these animated figures would do? Nope, ♥♥♥♥ YOU! Back on the railroad you go!"

The harder you try to play it like a game rather than a self-playing piece of art, the more the game resists your efforts. The symbolism holds no meaning and doesn't even retain any relevance within any of the areas of the game, so you can tell the devs got lost at one point huffing their own farts and never looked back.

This should've just been an animated short movie or something, because as a video game, I feel ripped off.

Might not be the best game I've ever played but it surpassed my expectations, which was more than I could hope for after years of waiting.

All (or most, at least) bugs from launch seem to be fixed now, and the missing gloves hint at future content/updates. This game is like Mirror's Edge meets Shadow Warrior with a Hotline Miami-style approach (1HK and banging synthwave OST). It's a short but fun trip, where you'll die hundreds of times but it's still easy enough to finish, even on Hardcore.

I'd recommend to anyone with a decent amount of skill, whether you're a casual gamer or a challenge-seeker with something to prove.

So boring you'll find yourself eating broken glass to pass the time. Cannot recommend this game before its full release.
