It took a while to come out, but when it did, the wait was worth it. Beautifully crafted remake of the original lovingly recreated by a dedicated team. Knowing the fate of many projects in the past, one would have expected this to crash and burn, but the end result is a better remake than Valve could probably ever muster up.
Since this is probably my favorite game of all time, I'm so happy it ended up that way.

I would instantly recommend this to anyone interested in the Half-Life series.

Very good game. Hasn't aged very well though. PC version is a nightmare to get working well.
Plus remaster didn't fix any of the problems age has caused.

TL;DR: This game is DEFINITELY not ready for release and should have been delayed for at least another year. Filled with bugs, annoying combat, and terribly optimized, even with newest drivers and well above recommended specs.

BUGS
-------------
This game is immensely unplayable in its current state. I'm astonished it even got past QA testing. There are so many bugs in this game that make it downright unplayable. It has been a long time since I have played a game with such an immense amount of bugs. Not since Half-Life: Source. And even Half-Life: Source seems bug free compared to this ♥♥♥♥. For a quick rundown of some of the ♥♥♥♥ I've experienced:
-Multiple instances of characters clipping through each other, NPCs disappearing, and weapons turning invisible
-Keybind for switching weapons stays at L. Alt even though I CLEARLY set it to not be
-Falling through the floor
-Physics engine giving up on life
-Visual bugs that render some parts of the map as an invisible void
-Characters talking over each other and calling during scenes which shouldn't be possible, temporarily breaking the conversation with a mission character
-Missions getting really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confused on where I should be
-V being very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confused on what animation I should be playing
-And endless more that I have forgotten by now because they were overshadowed by above bugs

COMBAT/GAMEPLAY
-------------
The enemies you fight feel like bullet sponges, and you'll need to spend at least two magazines trying to kill them. There's also a thing where a camera can overheat you, which is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying when it happens in a room that the camera isn't even in.

This game also has a lot of something that I have come to hate a lot: cutscenes.
Since Half-Life's debut in 1998, it has been painfully obvious to every single game developer on the planet that there is absolutely no need at all to have a single moment where the player is not in control of their character, except when it is absolutely crucial and integral to the plot. And there are a lot of moments where the character is needlessly not in control by the player, even when it isn't integral to the plot of the game. And even though they have implemented a feature that allows you to skip some dialogue, it's very finicky about what counts as a moment that can be skipped, and it doesn't work half the time.
Probably the most fun I've had in this game is when the story is happening while I am in control of the player, and when I explore the vast beauty of Night City and mess around with it.

OPTIMIZATION (TL;DR THIS GAME RUNS LIKE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)
-------------
And the optimization. Hoo boy, the optimization.
I am well beyond the recommended specs for this game (not even minimum) and at high settings, I'm getting 10-20 fps in most scenes. In low settings, it's around 40 fps. It's only when I turn down the resolution scale to 75% that I get playable performance at Low settings.
According to what everyone else has to say, it's a mixed bag what experience you get. Some people claim they have flawless performance with similar or worse specs to mine. Some claim that their computer is
practically catching fire even with specs like a 3090 and an i9-10900k. Some are console players and are complaining about how the game runs terribly on their 1st gen PS4 or Xbox One (boo hoo).
When you develop a game, you want performance to be consistent across all devices, and not an issue for people with the right specs. This is not the case for Cyberpunk. If you are in a situation like mine, this is most likely the dealbreaker for you.

CONCLUSION
-------------
Most issues were discussed above, so let's make it short and simple here.
Do I hate Cyberpunk 2077? No.
Do I think that this is a bad game? No.
Is the game fun? Yes, if you are willing to deal with these issues.
So then why shouldn't I get it? If you play this game for more than ten minutes, you will realize that it is not a finished product. Not even close. This needed at least four more delays before it could even qualify as a finished game.

The reason I held off from buying this game for so long, despite being a huge DOOM fan, is for 3 reasons:
1. I am a cheapass.
2. The way the game was first advertised was as a story-based sequel to DOOM 2016, and I hate games that shove a stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story down your throat.
3. People online were saying that it was just "more DOOM", as if it was just some additional campaign addressed as a new game.
They could not have been more wrong.
This game innovates so much in its gameplay, its music, and in style. It is literally impossible to get bored playing this game; only to get exhausted.
I only have 2 issues:
1. There are cutscenes. Cutscenes should have gone obsolete very long ago, since Half-Life demonstrated that you can tell a story without them and the result would be much better. And I absolutely hate it when games have them, even if you can skip them. The player should ALWAYS be in control, no exceptions.
2. My save file has been corrupted 2 times already, preventing me from being able to finish the game.
Putting aside these two glaring flaws, this is easily game of the year for me.
