Why no open world content?
Why does this game does not have any open world content. I started playing FFXIV back in 2015 and I just tired of doing instanced content all the time. (I play through the client not steam) Why SE does not add open world content?

FATES are in fact a thing that exists.

1% of them are interesting and rewarding.

Your response fails to undo the fact that overworld content exists.

Hunts?

I am asking about endgame open world content (Like world quests in WoW). FATEs are primarily used for leveling... they are useless for max lvl characters.

I think you are right. They are afraid to take risks after the 1.0 fiasco. But how about adding tomestone rewards to FATEs? That will be a step in the right direction.

It would be difficult to balance with duty finder tomes.
They can decrease the tome rewards from duty finder by 50% and add the remaining tomes to FATEs per day reward with cap.

They’re not actually useless for max levels and Stormblood added a few that render some pretty nice rewards.

There's quite a lot of open world content. you got FATES as said. Those even tie in with overall quests and unlocking mounts etc. But like you've got crafting and gathering too. that's pretty much all based on open-world scenario's. with the latter job quests in between.

Treasure hunting is pretty fun

Honestly, I can't think of any 'open world content' that the game doesn't already have. Dynamic events? Fates. Crafting roundup? Preasent. Quests? They are there. World bosses? Hunts and some Fates.

What kind of content are you asking for that isn't really already there?

We call them Hunts and FATES.

You haven't played a lot of mmorpgs I see. Open world endgame content... that isn't just standing in capital cities and queueing for instances like World quests, world bosses and invasion points in WoW that lead to character development at endgame.

Right now the open world in this game is just barren and empty. This is the main reason why I unsubscribe from this game. There is nothing to do after you cap your tomes for the week.

As several people including myself have pointed out, this is blatently untrue. The FATE system has always existed and hunts are even more agressively active participation content. The exact opposte of what you claim the world is barren of.

These things also can lead to Endgame content progression, Hunts provide tokens that let you buy the relevant gear and FATEs provide a lot of the extra flavor material the world quests you're making a comparison of provide as well. (You're talking to someone who's a 948 Holy Priest and currently working on Heroic Antoras, I know what World Quests actually garner you with and the harsh reality is that they only get you started in endgame. WQ gear tends to cap around 930-935 and in no way substitutes progression from Mythic+ and advanced rating. Plus it's widely known the WoW community sees AP as nothing more than pointless busywork.)

If the base endgame progression is not enough for you, WoW in it's current state isn't either.

Tell me then what kind of endgame rewards FATEs give me at max lvl? Nothing... just some gil.. thats it. Whereas world quests, and invasion points in WoW give AP and gear to get started but FATEs in this game are complete useless for max lvl.

And next expansion AP is getting rid of in favour of Azerite. So the grind will be less whereas in FFXIV we just follow the same pattern since ARR.... capping tomestones.

You know how not to have a conversation? Intentionally misreading what I say and asking a question that only has one answer in your favor for no better reason then that you actually forgot about Hunts.

My exact words were that FATEs accomplish the same flavor that World Quests do, which again, do not actually give Endgame Rewards, but rather help build you up and at times offer things like pets and shinies of that nature.

The fact that you think Azerite is any different than AP, and not the same thing but for 3 items instead of one item, is kind of hilarious. We're going to be doing the same thing we did in Legion, only even more of it.

Hunts offer tokens you can directly turn in for items that upgrade your existing Endgame Equipment / Better Weapons. There's FFXIV offering world content that does something WoW doesn't, actually give something relevant to Endgame.
