At the moment of writing this review I'm 33 hours into Hunt and oh boy let me tell you something...

TL;DR - game is solid 8/10 highly suggest to at least try it (better with friends).

Now to be more specific:
As ex-Tarkov player with 1000+ hours played I can confirm that this game feels kinda familiar in some aspects. But don't get me wrong - Hunt is really-really different and unique. The main factor for me to decide if I like the game or not is amount of fun it gives me in one game session. And in case of Hunt it's solid yes, because it's gameplay sits right in the middle between being too hardcore or too casual. IMHO devs nailed niche and this thing definitely is addicting.

In Tarkov for comparison, you can spend 20 mins only preparing your character for the raid, then play around 40 mins just to die because of headshot from cheater or broken AI. Even if you don't die, in many cases Tarkov gameplay can be extremely boring. If you manage to extract and finish raid, you gonna spend another 20 mins managing your loot and stash. So finally you spent about 1.5 hours and had 0 fun. For the same amount of time spent in Hunt I managed to kill couple duos, make funny screenshot of fish with a hat cooking marshmallow at bonfire, two times kill boss and performing successful extract with bounty. Even if I died, I don't really care, because I didn't loose 1mil worth of gear and now I'm broke and need to grind money just to feel same suffer again. You get free hunters, you can play quickplay (in which if you won - you keep your hunter with all loot you managed to collect).

My subjective pros:
♦ I see that devs really being nice with community, listening to them and providing upadtes;
♦ Atmospheric-wise gives solid post-apocalyptic western immersion;
♦ Lots of different guns with different variations to choose for your playstyle;
♦ Adequate amount of grind for progression;
♦ I don't feel like I am forced to pay to win in this game;
♦ Awesome dynamic gunfights and low TTK (which is okay considering that these guns are from 1800's and there aren't many guns which can deal massive damage in short period of time like SMGs or shotguns in other games);
♦ 'Easy to learn hard to master' concept;
♦ Maps are 11/10. There are beautiful locations and in terms of level design you never get into situations when you are сornered with no way out. You always have space to attack or retreat and random traps or equipment to gain an advantage.
♦ Pretty good matchmaking in main gamemode. Didn't suffer too much because of too experienced enemies.

Objective cons:
♦ I have good CPU, currently 32 gb of RAM and GTX 1060 3gb. No matter which in-game and Nvidia settings I use, I can't get rid of non-loaded textures and textures popping out in front of me. I think it's Cryengine optimization features, but I want to be able to control how my game runs and looks. I can confirm that there definitely is present performance margin to be able to load textures properly while using minimal settings (didn't even reach 1.5 gb of VRAM usage in match).
♦ Menu UI is extremely annoying and overloaded with unnecessary tabs which can be combined with other tabs.

Highly suggest devs to take note of this:
♦ I want to be able to play with my friend quickplay as well (because it's fun), and thus there should be implemented different MMR value for this gamemode to balance players.
♦ Also, I wish there were more gamemodes. For example classic battle-royale where you start with knife and loot/fight your way to the center of map. I thought about duels, TDM, capture the banner etc with their own rankings/mmr. I think all of these are possible and we need some sort of fun casual gamemodes to enjoy this western setting gunplay.

In conclusion - game is solid 8/10 highly suggest to at least try it (better with friends).

Hope my review was informative. Have a nice day :)
