Reveled in delight, and groups grew to crowds;
With reasons aplenty they wait on day nine,
Staring at clock hands so smooth and so fine;
They share in their stories and their mass only grows,
Every clock tick sends shivers from head down to toes;
Rhythmic thumping rings out like a beat of a drum,
as those who lie waiting chug watered down rum;
"'Tis finally here!" One portly man shouts,
"Nay, still a minute!" The host wisely touts;
With starry-eyed stares and smiles aplenty
The gathering had grown to quite nearly twenty;
With garb oh-so-festive and spirits quite high,
They stared at that clock hand, with all knowing why;
The once yearly date full of blessings so pure,
And with seconds to go, they yearned for their cure;
The voices rang out from Paris to Drenthe,
A cheerful resounding "Happy March tenth!"
On this day, we must give thanks. Thanks for our mortal blessings that we share-- thanks for the cherished feelings that 3/10 bestows upon us, and thanks for yet one more chance to experience this.
Happy March 10th, and to all a good night-- may there be many more to come, if we are lucky.
As the sunlight dips below the horizon and the moon's glow illuminates and frees the mortal constraints on our mind... We must bid one another a HAPPY AND WONDROUS MARCH 10TH FOR NOW AND FOREVER MORE
