As you can see, I've sunk a lot of time into this game, like a lot of others. I've completed everything, all the side content. Only thing I have yet to do is try the other endings, but I don't really feel like doing that right away. I feel weirdly somber about it all.

I've waited years for this game, thinking it'd be a game I could sink into and forget all my troubles in life, at least for a while. And you know, despite all its flaws, despite all of the bugs, and the broken promises.. there's still something special here. I'm cautious to recommend it, because I know it has issues. But there's a really tragic and interesting story to delve into, if you take the time to do so.

The gameplay at first is dull.. can't really deny that. But over time, you start to become very powerful, and the gameplay really ramps up to become more fun. But the loop is repetitive. There isn't a ton of variation. It didn't stop me, however, and I know it won't dissuade many people who are used to this in our current generation of games. The game pokes fun at what interesting combat it could have had by introducing a mech boss fight early in the game. This same boss type is used again a couple times throughout the game through side content, and is the only real example of a boss fight that is different from your standard rank and file melee goon and gunman. Any example of a tougher enemy is simply a bullet sponge with the same tactics as normal goons. There is a final boss fight, but I can't really comment on it too much due to the fact I was viciously overpowered for it. (This is due to me completing all the side content before tackling the final mission.)

This game is simply stunning graphically. I did have performance issues here and there, and playing 4k Ultra settings provided me with a 35-45 FPS experience. But that didn't really bother me, and certainly didn't prevent me from soaking in the beautiful sights this city has to offer.

Overall.. I'd consider this game a flawed masterpiece. Throughout the game, you can feel the love, blood, sweat, and tears that went into this. CD Project Red definitely poured their soul out. Unfortunately, it can be overshadowed by false promises of a deeper experience, and a numerous amount of immersion (and sometimes save breaking) bugs.

This game will be in my memory for the foreseeable future. I'm cautiously optimistic of what time will bring for this game, new content and all.
