Connection to Workshop
Is anyone else having trouble getting their subscribed maps?
Portal 2 says it is having trouble connecting to the internet but i can see coop players fine in game. I did verify the integrity of the game cache. also i downloaded a map and it did show up until I restarted the game then nothing again.
If this topic is already out there, sorry, i didn't see it.

Submit a support ticket https://support.steampowered.com/

Tried that on several occasions and support is a fate worse than death. Unless your idea is to get attention for a broken game feature to get fixed then maybe a good idea but a lost cause.

I noticed last night that it is not limited to Portal 2 workshop items. My Left 4 Dead 2 Items were also not available. I did submit a support ticket yesterday. not holding my breath on that one. But, if the problem is widespread than I initially thought, a solution might be coming faster.

Yes... after I subscribe to a map I have to restart the game to see it in the queue...

Seems the latest Steam Client update virtually killed any cloud-based feature. Games do not get new workshop content, screenshots can not be uploaded .. can't do any of these since May 20th.

Well that explains a lot.

I got this from Steam yesterday:

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Please exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).

Delete all of the files in this folder except:

- Steamapps and Userdata folders

- Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)

Restart your computer.

Then, launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut.

With Steam running, re-test the original issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.

If the issue persists, make sure your network is optimized for Steam:

After all that and re-installing Steam

Still not working. I told them that I think it has something to do with the last Steam update.

Just tried it again and it is working now. maybe it had something to do with the last update after all.
