Love this game.
For anyone who was a fan of the early Mega Man X titles, this scratches that itch quite well with all the attack, powerup, and movement mechanics and its bosses, completely blowing Mighty No. 9 out of the water. No excessive mandatory dialogue, all gameplay. Every character changes up how the game plays, and the DLC characters are completely worth it - though Draco might break the game a bit.
Soundtrack is a banger.
As a roguelike, it stands tall with its variety of powerups and challenges for runs later on; powerups are unlocked over time as you play, and can significantly alter how you play and perform with every run. Sometimes the procedural generation gets in the way, but most of the time it's inoffensive enough.
However, I've gotten 30XX - and it now has me even more addicted than this game.

What I don't like about this game is the RNG aspect of the levels. They are procedurally generated which means sometimes you are impeded in movement because a small moving platform you need to hop on is blocked by a turret and the timing of your jump is also when then turret fires. This makes the game design feel cheap. The second pass for me is how you are forced to spend soul chips in a use-it-or-lose-it manner. If you didn't get enough in the RNG maps then you won't be able to upgrade. No thanks, not for me.
