Call of Duty: United Offensive

CoD UO: Downgrade from v1.51 to v1.41.
Like anybody else who downloaded this game through Steam gets the latest version of the game and can't choose what patch to install or not. On the version 1.51, there are a few servers depending on the location and in my case game didn’t found any server and I am from Europe. I knew from earlier that there are many more servers on v1.41 but I couldn’t find a solution how to roll back game to v1.41.
So I searched the web and I found some solutions from different forums. First of all, you’ll have to download a file that will do the job and downgrade to v1.41.

1. Download the file by copying the link from pastebin: https://pastebin.com/NTacrtQA (size 310 MB). All credits goes to www.biohazardclan.com where I found this patch in the first place.

2. Unpack and extract the downloaded file to the game installation folder (e.g. E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty) and read further instructions. That would be hitting enter button a few times and you're done. Everything is written there with instructions.

3. After that is done it will make a new folder “coduo_mp_rollback” next to an original intact Call of Duty folder, which is the desired v1.41.

If you have activated game you should be able to play multiplayer United Offensive 1.41 from that new folder. Don't forget to change the source servers to the internet, my was at local by default - no servers.
------------------------------------------------
*Note: if it is asking for a CD key and you have already activated your game, follow these steps:

4. Hit start and type “regedit”.

5. Depending on your system type, if it is x86 you should navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Call of Duty United Offensive (tested on Win 7 pro x86 system)

or if you are using x64 system:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Activision\Call of Duty United Offensive (tested on Win 8.1/Win 10 x64 machine)

6. You will see the value named “key”, double click it and there is your cd key. Copy it or write it down and type it into the game in multiplayer options. Please don't alter anything from the register or you could mess up things.

7. Now type the cd key in the multiplayer options from the game main menu.

You should be ready to play v1.41 with dozens of servers and you don’t have to log in on Steam.
I hope I helped you, cheers.

Hmm I hadn't had that problem, have you started the game from “coduo_mp_rollback” folder? I deleted all files recently so I can't test it, have you googled it?

you can also request your cd key from steam if you have a retail version of the game like me.

a few years ago my friend got the game but steam patched it, as we was on an earlier version it messed things up so i requested the cd keys from steam so he could reinstall the game from my retail version. Steam needs to resolve this issue players dont want to play the latest version when there is much better game servers on the earlier version of the game.

I don't think you will have any problems. I didn't play long with that patch and I hadn't problems. For what part are you asking for? About installing the patch or getting out the serial number from a register? Either way, you are playing the game non-steam so your original files are untouched and you are not messing up with steam files. Someone did a great job and put all the v1.4 files of the game in that patch. Just make sure that just you are playing the game with your serial number. You could download pirated game and enter that cd key and play, you paid it, cheers.

What the hell so if I patch the game I can't play 1.41? That was the whole purpose why I wanted to buy the game.:-( If it doesn't count hours which is what I sadly care about now since steam forces entertainment on farming hours in every direction. I guess I could get the steam version with 1.51 and get a cracked one for 1.41 I just figured it out!

Ok I just found the "coduo_mp_rollback" folder back in the common folder in steam. When I launch CoDMP.exe it gives me an error which says (Failed to find Steam) and for some reason coduomp.exe isn't the steam one it's another where the date modified year is 2004.

Maybe if I move rollback folder files to the original steam one I could run 1.41 on good old coduo.

Is there anyone who knows how to master this so I can play the game launched with steam instead of opening it the classic way?

Thank you in advance!
