So, merging Vista version with the standard version of the game is a no-go, unfortunately. This means we’re choosing a different solution: a special branch for Vista version.

Here’s the procedure on how to activate it:

1. In Steam client, right click on Starpoint Gemini 2 in the games list
   
2. Open Properties
   
3. Switch to BETAS tab
   
4. In the dropdown menu, choose windows_vista
   
5. If the game doesn’t automatically update to the Vista version, restart Steam client

A new Vista version will become available a few minutes after the standard update is released. We’ll need those few minutes to upload the Vista version and release it.

And that’s about it. If you’ll have any problems opting into the Vista branch, let us know and we’ll help out :).

Those of you who have opted into the vista_betatest branch, please opt out of it and check into this branch. In a week or so, we'll deactivate the vista_betatest branch altogether.

This thread made my night. Reinstalled the game and was up all night playing till 8 in the morning haha. Big thanks for not abandoning us Vista users.

What can I say - Vista was not supposed to be supported but many of Vista users invested into the game and we just couldn't allow them to hang dry. Especially after great effort by Vista users to provide info needed to "force" the support...

Just noticed this thread but I run the regular install crash- and bugfree as far as I can tell on Vista and Catalyst 13.4.

I was working fine till after todays patch, now I crash at synching.

Yeah I did the Vista steps. No joy. Is there an updated Vista fix due some time in the future, or am I the only Vista user that this does not work for? Or... or what?

Could you please send over your DxDiag report file and the game log to [e-mail] ? It could help us determine why it's not working. The Vista build should work without a problem now :S.
