Why such tower limiting?
I'm over half way done with the game and I'm noticing that even very large boards have limits of around ten towers. Is this to drive player motivation to use their weapons? Graphical limitations? I'm sure you guys have a good reason.

Edit: I didnt create this post as an opportunity to slam the devs. I have no problem with the game. I was just curious as to why they chose to limit towers (Which I'm totally fine with). I think I'll be deleting this post now that no good came of it.

it's not graphical limitations, it's process limitations for the consoles. They can't handle much more than 10 towers going off, so they had to set the cap.

we are pc and mac users here, we generally dont give a damn about consols unless there dumbing down our classics.

Yes I realise that, but 10 towers?!? That's ludicrus! By the end of a 20 wave match in Sanctum 1 I had built near enough to 30 towers and it was a close run thing. And that's without the enemies ability to break walls, open new spawn areas, and actual boss creatures. I mean, imagine a map with air born enemies. Five turrets for ground and five for air just wont cut it.

hehe... sadly, it does.

the old "last level" was fun, new one is great too, but i won't forget the other one...

if you think about it though, it would be even more ridiculous if you gave one "better" version to one system or one console. it would be taken as a insult by those faithful to other markets and less will buy the "inferior" product, even though they dont have access to another.

at this point, i feel more obliged to blame society's need to realistic graphics more than the lacking of consoles, if S2 was as optimised as it is and used S1's graphics, i don't think there would be much of a problem (then again, i know little about computers and why their frame rate drops)

You mean only being able to build 10 towers or a certain ammount of towers on maps? From the stream I saw then yes that will affect us, though I don't think it has anything to do with the console versions, though idk for sure since a game developer hasn't replied to this yet. But even though you can only build 10 towers, you can still build a decent ammount of blocks, just so you don't get those two things confused.

There are no more anti-air turrets in this game, every turret can hit air unless specified in that tower's description, only thing that air targets do now is avoid going around your maze and instead go stright for the core. Also there's only about 6 waves per map in Sanctum 2, which I enjoy a lot personally, in Sanctum 1 it felt like the maps were really drawn out to me, though that's a personal thing and I can understand if that aggrevates you. Also @ Inco I believe it is 10 towers total, but again not completely sure since I'm not a Dev and only going off of the footage I saw. :P, though I DO know that there are no more anti-air towers specifically because they said that in the stream. (The Devs.)

I got the game like a week ago. I'm with the press. Also, you must have seen early game footage. Most boards at 8+ waves.

Also, this is shared. Just like the resources. Thankfully, I havent had any issues with bad players because lets face it, most people worthy enough to get into the early release are respectable people. I imagine once Sanctum 2 is open to the public this is going to change dramatically. I played with one person who wastn with any kind of press, he got the code from some twitter giveaway. He never alternated weapons, he sold towers right before the time limit was up and he spammed the chat. This is just me going off on a tangent. I'm sure everything will be fleshed out nicely.

Happens all the time and people continue to buy the gimped console version of whatever happens to be the flavour of the month.

Yeah I saw early game footage, I didn't watch must past that (yet) because I don't want to get TOO spoiled on the game. Also apologies for assuming wrong and not checking your profile. Also that guy sounds like an ass, but I can't blame him for spamming the chat, that text-to-voice function is hilariously awsome man. (I'm just joking obviously, he's still an ass ;P)
